About Mrs. Bowling

Mrs. Ella Bowling has been teaching science at Mason County Middle School since 2005. She taught a year (2004-2005) prior to that at Pendleton County and a semester at Mason County High School (Jan. 04-June 04). Mrs. Bowling is a lifelong resident of Bracken County, KY and an alumni of Bracken County High School, class of 2000. After high school, Ella attended Morehead State University to complete her BA in Middle Grades Education with areas of specialization in science and history. Ella graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA from MSU in December 2003. She completed a MA in Instructional Leadership from Eastern KY University in 2005 and a Rank I in Director of Pupil Personnel from Morehead State University in 2011.

Ella was the recipient of the 2012 KY Middle School Science Teacher of the Year Award, 2013 PASCO National STEM Educator Award from the NSTA, and the 2013 Butler Cooley Excellence in Teaching Award from Turnaround Management Association. Ella was also selected by the Mason County Schools Superintendent, to be one of the first six teachers in the Mason County Ron Clarke Cadre to transform the way we are teaching and inspiring our students! She got to visit the Ron Clarke Academy in Atlanta, GA and brought back tons of great ways to make our schools take the plunge from good to GREAT!

In her spare time, Ella enjoys spending time with her husband Lance and son, Levi on their farm where they raise cattle. She loves growing a bountiful vegetable garden in the summer. She is an avid hunter and truly enjoys the great outdoors, which led her to start the archery program at Mason county schools and become the first Mason County Schools Varsity Archery Coach.
